I arrived in Honolulu this afternoon, and I have used my Chase Freedom Unlimited twice. There were no issues at ABC Stores, but the card failed at Honolulu Cookie Company. Last year around this time I was able to use Google Pay successfully at both merchants. The Verifone terminal at Honolulu Cookie Company errored out with the buzzing sound and said something like "CARD READ ERROR" on the screen even though the terminal had the contactless logo and said, "INSERT, TAP, OR SWIPE".
