The hotel is in a nicer area for shopping compared to the Westin. Lots of shopping and restaurants close to the Gran Via. The hotel is inside a casino building as noted but there is a dedicated lobby and entrance off the the Main Street. Close to metro stop. As it was the start of the tourist season, was not able to get a suite upgrade and none were showing available online. Got a 3rd floor room facing the Main Street. No noise issue that I was aware of. Room is oddly configured as you walk into the open bathroom at the entrance with showers on the right and toilet on the left. Not especially good with room mate situations. Past this is the bedroom portion of the room. Rooms are nicely decorated with “European” styling. Bed is comfortable and internet is fast. I would recommend asking for a regular style room with actual separate bathroom.

Gym was was also on the 3rd floor. Small but sufficient with a couple machines and a weight set. No other facilities that I’ve found.

the restaurant on the 2nd floor serves breakfast (included for platinums). A menu of 10 or so hot dishes for your choosing and unlimited cold and warm buffet items. Decent but cant compare to a buffet at the Westin Palace.

I would consider the hotel a small boutique. Not a lot of rooms and room size not super big. But the location is excellent and would be a great starting point for tourists.

If i remember correctly, there are only about 10% of the rooms that have two twins, so plan accordingly. Service overall is decent. Not overly great but passable for Europe. For comparison, I would choose Westin because of the potentially bigger room, better breakfast, and bigger gym. I would choose this hotel for better access to restaurants and shopping in the area.
Thanks for the info. I'll be there next week so I hope my SNAs clear.

Would you say the immediate area around the hotel is safe?
