December 2018 Stay

I've stayed here more times than I can count, but this is my first since the renovations are fully done and post-merger. Most of what I've said in the past re: service is still true, although Marriott recognition feels a little different to Starwood gold. Judy/Rachel/JOcelyn and Storm are still their best ambassadors, the lack of turnover at this hotel is impressive
  • I absolutely love the room updates. The removal of carpets there and in the walkway from North to South Tower is such a wonderful upgrade. I never felt this hotel looked particularly dated, but these updates really helped it look more updated. I love the desks, and the love seats vs. the old chaises.
  • So glad they kept the rain head showers as those/dual-headed are my absolute favorites
  • The lobby update has been finished with power points in the table and in the couches, which is a nice touch. It makes it more welcoming & inviting to lounge there, which is something I felt this hotel lacked before. I also similarly appreciate the addition of the high boy tables outside the gym/Starbucks as a place to take your coffee.
  • The gym now includes two Peloton bikes, a nice touch.
  • They're in the process of updating the pool deck. The blue chairs are being replaced with white and the orange umbrellas will be brown. About 50 of the chairs came back this week and they make the pool deck look a lot lighter. Nice addition of some tables on the sun deck to accompany those adjacent to Waves if you want to eat in the sun, but not at a lounge chair.
  • Waves' menu has some nice new additions including the Italian Muffaletta, and smoked salmon tacos
