As with all insurance, it pays to sit down and determine what is important to you and then to read the contact (terms and conditions). Only you can determine the value proposition, especially whether the coverages meet your need.

In your case consider whether the $10,000 holiday cost is a pittance compared to the cost of a medical evacuation from the Galapagos or Antarctica to Memphis. Could easily run $150K+. Might standard coverage only provide for transport to the nearest competent facility or perhaps the nearest competent facility in the US?
