May marks the start of the wet season in Punta Cana, when temperatures are high and you're almost guaranteed to see some rainfall. At this time of year, the average temperature for Punta Cana rises slightly from 26.5°C on May 1st up to 27.5°C by May 31st. It’s even more likely to be hotter and wetter on the northern coast.
Amanera is on the northern coast. Yikes.
Plus...hurricanes. I hear they can be a little problematic, and one hits DR every 10 years on average. With climate change, I’d guess a hurricane will hit DR a bit more often.
Doesn’t seem so good a deal to me now!
