Looking at this hotel in comparison to the PdG (which won't let me book on points for some reason).
one of the TA reviews mention platinum breakfast was continental.

“After much effort in attaining my Marriott Platinum Elite status; came a shocker which hit me upon check in; when I was very firmly informed that breakfast offered was merely continental ! Why bother I asked myself. I equally protested in the strongest terms that the hotel should have made this very clear in my email correspondence months before my stay. As I could have arranged with another comparable Marriott property which would have accorded me their standard privileges plus more. Finally they relented. But ironically it was not worth the battle royale. The hot breakfast(not a buffet) fell short of expectations. For €45 which included the Egg Benedict was very disappointing. The Asian selection which offered dim sum fared far worse, where the skins had the texture of rubber. No self respecting Asian would even touch it. If you can’t do it well; take it off the menu. Imagine if one whole Asian family ordered the same. A very expensive mistake ! The only saving grace was the fresh almond drink which must be drunk warm. That was outstanding.”
