What Capital One is seeing are applicants who are opening accounts (
too many new revolving accounts), but not using them ongoing
(no revolving accounts have a balance). This indicates churning, and they aren't interested in awarding new account bonuses for card that will not be used after the bonus is earned. It doesn't matter to them if their algorithm is correct in your case, each of us is nothing other than an instance of a type.
Thanks. It's still quite interesting that Capital One is more strict than the infamous 5/24 rule from Chase.
I got denied, but one of my family members got approved few days after applying, we plan to just add authorized users (me and my spouse) to my family member's card account. I think with 2x point / dollar, this is a good card to be used by all of us on everyday spend for merchants who don't take AmEx. Now the question is, can the point transfer to airline program be transferred to authorized user's frequent flyer account?
