Gooselee, unless I am missing something, you can do this for a flight your are already on. However, you cannot check standby for a flight that you are not yet confirmed. If you can actually check standby for a flight you are not on, that is definitely news to me and would love to know how to do it.
If I am listed SB for a flight (usually due to SDS), the unconfirmed flight will appear in my itin along with the confirmed flight. I can then access the SB list there and see where I am on it.
In IRROPS, there seems to be a 50/50 chance of my PNR disappearing from the app altogether, so YMMV on those occasions. But then I just go to the website.
