Surprising to me OMNI seems to be more tolerant of opinions. I have been able to read more posts and actually post without being attacked. I understand that 90% of OMNI posters already have a position, many radical, and they will not be changing. With this in mind I have been able to be more involved with OMNI. By the way I think that the moderators are doing a great job, considering all the political discussion on OMNI right now.
For all the heated arguments, many people decide to put up with OMNI's dark side so that they can truly appreciate its amusement and the participants' knowledge and wit. Even the most heated discussions eventually cool off since most everyone who likes a good argument recognizes the symbiotic relationship.
