I work for United, and my fiance for American. Neither of us have any idea how our respective airlines frequent flier programs work, other than in my case, that Global Services is a big deal. My father flies on American, as he has more options living near Philly, than driving to EWR. He recently made Gold Status, but was surprised to see that with the status, an opportunity to board the plane earlier didn't exist. His boarding pass both prior and after achieving Gold remained in Zone 6. Does AA not provide earlier boarding for Gold Status? His BP did show Gold.

Appreciate any insight...
Not sure what happened here, but AA definitely provides earlier boarding for GLD vs. non-status. Here's the order; GLD should be Group 4, not 6.
