OP has TATL BE, which UA should not be calling BE in the first place due to the confusion it's already causing.

OP: You're correct that you should not be upgrade-eligible on LAX-OGG or HNL-SFO, but it appears UA has coded something improperly in their systems. These used to be pretty common upgrade routes for a Silver or a Gold, but recently I wouldn't get my hopes up.

You will get your normal UA Gold baggage allowance (2 bags) for the flight from HNL. LH will not charge you in SFO; in fact, you'll never even see your bags there. For your flight to the US, you should get one bag free as *G.
