I just checked the Tripadvisor reviews for this hotel, and recent replies from management indicate there is currently a refurbishment ongoing, due to be completed in March 2019.
I will be in Beijing for a couple of nights in January and will request one of these refurbished rooms "for science" (to review). Wish me luck!
