BA Average Capacity Economy
I rarely, if ever fly on a FULLY, 100% booked flight but whilst I appreciate this does happen on certain routes I've often wondered why...
Why doesn't an airline be bold and remove the back 4/5/6/7/10 rows of an aircraft, make ALL seats much nicer with more space and offer a much better product. They would sell out every flight.
If an airline did this and found the sweet spot with capacity, surely the airline would be the 'go to' airline for extra space for no extra money meaning they would almost always fly at capacity.
I know this business has been done over and over before but I struggle to see why this wouldn't work. I'm guessing that more flights have empty seats than are full so why not try it?
I am basing this all on assumption with zero figures or evidence.
Naturally if an airline did this and it works and they start selling capacity often, prices would rise but nice idea right!
(This is all off the back of my recent Y flight which was the first in quite a few years and it was hellish!) Yep snob, so what?
