I was on a TWA flight flying alone from JFK-TLV and the Flight Attendant and I were talking and I mentioned how I would love to sit in the cockpit for takeoff and landing. So the captain comes back and we chat. Our flight was delayed leaving JFK so it was so much fun seeing all the traffic at JFK as we were taxing to the active runway. I overhead on the radio TWA 883 your number 15 for takeoff!

About 45 minutes into TLV I was again brought up to the cockpit, It was fun seeing Cyprus and then the cities surrounding TLV as we were approaching Ben Gurion. This was after TWA 800 back in the Summer of 1996. That 747-200 landed gracefully around 5 PM into TLV.

I asked the captain questions about how the speedbrake srettings were, I saw how the crew went over their pre landing checklist. "TLV Good Evening TW 883 Boeing 747 heavy begin decent to flight level 15,000 feet and take Ayalon approach to Mod'in and begin your turn to the runway(forget which runway). I saw the Highway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and the Judean Hills as well as Yaffo, Ashdod, Rishon and other surrounding cities.

I saw many EL AL heavies and other smaller planes. This was the old Terminal 1 and today people would dream to have such an experience. I was 12 back then! Such an awesome crew!
