CameraGuy is saying that one of the checkpoints at RDU has the screener/hired ticket checker first. Then they have a ticket checker in the SSSS line or the WTMD ticket checker. But at the very end of the checkpoint they also have another ticket checker that only checks boarding passes after you've completed getting yourself together.

At CP "A" you go thru 2 private employees, then directed into the selectee lane (lane 1). The screener @ the walk-thru checks the BP (per SOP) to determine if the pax is a selectee. After the selectee screening process is completed, the pax gets their BP from the (so called) extra screener, who has stamped it to indicate the pax has been screened. This person stands about 10ft. from the end of the conveyor. Non-selectees must also show their BP to this person to insure they were screened appropriately and are not selectees.
I didn't come up with this, our glorious Mngt. did.
