I have a seven-night reservation at Holiday Inn Resort Phuket, January 4-11. I made a reservation using award nights (IHG points), then emailed the hotel to inquire about an upgrade. I am IHG Spire status.

I was offered a complimentary upgrade to a Busakorn Pool View room, or a paid upgrade to a Busakorn Pool Access room for 3,500 baht per night.

The paid upgrade offer seems reasonable, since 3,500 baht is lower than the actual difference in paid cost between the two room levels.

I asked about breakfast, and was told it could be added for 490 baht per day.

Does anyone have recent experience with elite perks at this property? The paid upgrade offer seems reasonable, but I'm disappointed it doesn't include free breakfast.
