Is there a reason why BA haven't upgraded these still? Unless I'm mistaken, it's a system that is 18 years old? If you compare technological advances between then and now, it's a pretty staggering gap truth be told.

Agreed the answer is always to bring your own IFE if possible but also concur that a lot of fliers may not be aware of this. It's also somewhat unfortunate/ironic that these are usually the planes that are flown on the longer routes as well.
