I guess it's what you are used to... I'd hate to see such a high limit here. There isn't room in an aircraft cabin for every passenger to carry on 18 kg, and having heavy items in overhead bins can and does cause injury.... not to mention the delays during boarding as everybody tries to find room for their carry-on baggage.

I'm entirely happy with 10 kg... and from comments I've seen here so far it looks like other Europeans agree with me.
