I have found chat and requests on the app to be useless 95% of the time. It is irritating to be prompted by Marriott to utilize these features,yet they are rarely honored.
I actually had a property tell me last week,when I questioned why the extra towels and toiletries that I had requested were not provided, that they did not know such a mechanism existed. Both the front desk clerks and manager were surprised when I actually showed them the app that showed all requests as closed.
