Personally I wouldn’t risk ordering a special meal if you really want to experience the new service. You risk getting what would have been served in the old service tipped onto a plate.
I hear you and would generally agree, however on this trip I be with an lap infant. So there will be not much 'enjoyment' over the food service, unless its quick and efficient - which the new arrangements seem to be lacking from what I read here ;-o
