The sleeper trains used to Narvik have sleeping berths the same as the ones used on say Stockholm-Malmo/Malmo-Stockholm and Stockholm-Åre trains. I have slept well enough on them but not so well as to be eager to substitute a hotel night+flight for a train.

Norway’s pretty good about bus/shuttle transport where I didn’t even expect it but it can run so infrequently in places that I would want to plan ahead and definitely not want to risk being late by even a minute. There is — or at least used to be —Narvik-Tromso bus service on a daily basis at least.
