Such nesting can be an issue with revenue fares if it is used to get around min-stay/Sat night stay rules to get cheaper fares. This generally only occurs when you are doing short weekly flights to a destination (with Su - Th or Mo - Fr stays). Such nesting is prohibited in the CoC. Probably not an issue with award fares (although there are some with min stay requirements now).
