Just as an aside-- if you live abroad and default on a foreign DL site such as Germany, you often need to manually go back to the US site to use the AMEX DL card miles redemptions. Similarly, I have often had a problem as a foreign resident that I can redeem the AMEX miles from my reserve card, but can then only use a Master Card to pay for taxes because the DL card is a mastercard in Germany and my account is associated with a foreign address
