But the system is therefore more complicated than that operated by some other airlines. The need for a calculator illustrates that well; calculators are handy for checking what on some other airlines you could
quite quickly look up, but on QF it's pretty hard to work out your earn by any means other than the calculator.
Qantas tells you exactly how many SC and QP your flight will earn at the time you book them, provided you book through the Qantas website. The whole system is meant to make it "simpler and fairer" if you fly with Qantas, but not if you fly with OW partners on QF routes. If your definition of complicated is having a straightforward calculator work out your SC/QP earn for you then sure, I guess you could say it's complicated.
