Yup thats what they did for me last year - FLY wouldnt permit the bag to be tagged on the long hual leg only as i was doing a LHR>AMS>LHR...XXX (JNB i think) beforehand on separate tickets too. First check-in tried for ages, the FLY hotline couldnt do it either...eventually the first check in manager wandered off to another desk and came back with two luggage tags and said he used the old system instead.
Wondering how long they will have access to the old check in system or why they havent added this function into FLY
