I've now had my Delta account hacked three times in the past few weeks and each time, I change my password and security questions yet it happens again. Twice the person who did this made international reservations using my skymiles for travel the same day that the reservation was made. Both times the reservations were made for two people, one in my name, and one in the name of someone who I believe is from Nigeria, since both of these involved travel to Lagos and the name of the other individual was Nigerian though not the same person. Both times Delta rapidly credited my SM account for the miles. On the first of these two events, my name was changed in my SM account to the name of the other person for whom a reservation was made. The third time, just an hour ago, someone used the credit card I have on file with Delta. Each time Delta put a security hold on my account, I have to send in a copy of my passport or driver's license to verify my identity (which I do) and they unfreeze the account And then iit happens again.
Now DL suggest's I change my email address or mailing address but since the person has access to my account somehow, this does not seem like something that would protect my account. While I can create an alias email address, I'm not sure this would do any good. And I can't change my mailing address unless I move.
I must not be the only one to whom this is happening although searching flyertalk with "security" doesn't bring up anything at all recent simlar to what is happening to me. It doesn't seem as if DL security sees this as an issue that they should be concerned about. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can prevent this from happening?
