IT bugs this weekend
My wife is waitlisted (miles and copay) for class PZ, on a United flight NRT-IAD in March. United deducted the copay, but not the miles a couple months ago. I understand that this is common. When managing her reservation today, I noticed that I have the option to purchase this same upgrade again. Also, that this request will be automatically accepted. However, upgrade availability still shows PZ0 (original flight class is S). Also, when I look at this same flight from two other split PNRs (without upgrade requests), I only see waitlist availability. This feels like an IT bug. Anyone have thoughts on this? If I purchased the upgrade again, could I just request a refund for my original copay? Most likely, I feel like I would just create a headache, and spend a lot of time on the phone cleaning things up.
Curiously enough, yesterday I booked by mom on EWR-HKG and there was no miles/copay upgrade availability at booking. However, when I managed the reservation a few minutes later, there was availability, and I quickly put her miles/copay upgrade through. I don't think things are working quite right this weekend.
