Presumably DL would be able to have the responsible party/parties arrested at check-in, or if online check-in was done, then either at the TSA check-point or finally at the gate, as there would surely be a security alert placed on the reservation(s). I wonder if that even happened?
Usually, these kinds of trips, especially to Lagos, would be flagged and the passenger would be required to show the physical credit card before checking in. Granted, it doesn’t help if the thief used their own credit card to pay for the redemption fees.
