Is there any good reason for a 1K (and lifetime Plat) to get the Club Card as opposed to UC membership outright? There's no difference in price at the 1K level. In my case, annual miles spent are roughly the same as annual miles earned, including UC membership. Some years it's up a little, others its down a little.
Also
- CPU on awards
- Guarantees your miles don't expire (such as you suddenly have a hiatus from travel)
At no increase in costs, the prior mentioned benefits and these are nice additions
