Absurd is a little over the top.....I asked, never hurts to ask. Booking separate tickets is not the issue...the issue for me is I made my travel plans based on Delta offering direct service from GRU to DTW. That service is no longer available. I more than likely would not have ended up booking into GRU if that direct service was not available. Anyway we got 10,000 points for the re-route and I will decide or look for other options out of JNB.
