I actually set these up for my parents over the Thanksgiving holiday and I could swear that pages started loading faster afterward (despite still using the same 100mbps or so connection from Spectrum). The downside is that each of them only has one Ethernet port for wired devices, so you have to buy a separate switch to handle those.
I got the Google Wifi (set of 3) a year ago because my son's room is at the other side of the house and the cheap extender I got was not fast enough for his gaming. I used to have an ASUS router, now I just use that as a switch next to hub by the modem for physical ethernet ports. I also have spectrum and the Google Wifi does seem faster even with devices close to the hub by the modem.
