Thanks. Sounds like I would have to have a pretty large spend for the extra half-mile to be worth it. Even the Explorer seems to provide only upgrades on an award ticket, and I would have been able to use this once in the past 12 months: one flight DCA-ORD. Since those upgrades are $99 each, the economics is pretty marginal.
