Just a quick update - will do a more detailed review of the hotels later, but this is information that you might like to have to had before booking, as the first three hotels we stayed at are all doing building work. This is not been communicated on website, and is disrupting to the guest. However the hotels do need to be refurbished, but if we were informed our stay would have been elsewhere, anywhere else ....
Mercure Gdynia : Were given suite ( booked Superior ) very glad we did not stay in anything lower, as had a good look in the rooms during our stay as they are doing renovations- and they look very old and tired ( Monday to Saturday almost nonstop ) – this did sort of put a damper on the days due to early building work starting next door !!.
Pool is basically a public pool. We could not find any time when it was not being used by non hotel guests- even has its own separate entrance. No hot tub despite being listed on websites such as Tripadvisor. Hotel does know about this and does nothing.
Breakfast / restaurant very good – 15% whinestone discount offered and well used!
Full platinum recognition given, and staff extremely kind and helpful. Nice welcome gift and wine.
Novotel Posejdon undergoing noisy renovations – skipped - just too much hassle
Mecure Posejdon : Again undergoing noisy renovations : Better than the Novotel.
Pool / Sauna out of action due to renovations, and again the hot tub issue (manager denied this but other staff conformed lots of complaints) and again they do nothing. Lots of young and noisy families staying.
Full platinum recognition ( inc silver key card – opps kept ) but no upgrade as all rooms same. (imagine nice Ibis with Whinestone Restaurant ) 15% discount given as before.
Did get a free taxi to Novotel to use pool.
Will update later in month. Just be aware of the renovation work. I just do not know why hotels think it is acceptable not to inform guests of building work, so that they can make an informed decision on where to stay.
