Bummer!

So here is my scenario. I was scheduled to fly from GRU to DTW on August 19th. I specifically chose this route because it allowed me to get home from JNB in one stop. I am flying from JNB to GRU on SAA. And then was going to make the direct flight on Delta to DTW.

Now I am being routed thru Atlanta and then Detroit. Do I have any recourse with Delta? Can I get some compensation points back? Or will this be a “oh we are sorry - schedule change - have a good day” scenario....
