Put me out of my misery (using Avios BOS/LHR)
I've skimmed a dozen threads and read a half dozen blogs. We have 35K Avios from a couple lengthy business trips. Tried to use them for a BOS/LHR r/t for the two of us and I can use 'em all up and only pay $1386 in fees for the dates I picked in mid May. Or I can just pay cash and it's $1 cheaper.

Did I just pick a bad combo of flights and dates? Or are they really this useless . . . and is it just so for BOS/LHR and I'm better off using them with a partner as I've read?

I wasn't expecting a pair of free roundtrips out of this, but I did at least hope for maybe one short r/t or at least a free (ish) one way trip.
