I too stay at a multitude of different IC all over the world. But the ones that I go to again and again take better care of me. Actually a better way to state is is this:

If a particular IC is stingy with upgrades for random RA stays, I've sometimes found that that same IC will reward RA's who are regular repeat customers. Take Le Grand Paris for instance. Over the years their Club access policy for RA's has gone on and off and on several times. But even during the periods where they did not give RA's access to the club, they always gave me access to the club as a frequent guest. I think at this point even if I lose RA status I will still have an RA experience at Le Grand.

Further I've found that when I am well known to the club staff at most any IC, they will give me a further upgrade than what the hotel had originally upgraded me to.
