I've gotten an EXP agent or two to look the other way when requesting a change due to a 5 min schedule change (in one instance the system didn't even flag it as a schedule change with the big red "Your reservation has changed" message on AA.com). But I recognize that my status and/or the agents' goodwill likely played a large role in these outcomes, and do not expect them to occur every time.
