Perhaps you can help me as I am having a hard time finding an answer to this question. I think this is the right forum for the question. I booked a great deal flight from TYS to ZAG, but it is in Basic Economy all on BA flight numbers. My wife really wants to sit next to me but I cant guarantee that at all, but I truely dont feel like paying the $300+ in seat selection fees for the trip. I am gold status on AA which equals to Ruby for one world alliance. On the website it says Ruby status will allow seat selection 7 days out, does that apply to BA basic economy? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
