If you are globalist, you still pay resort fees, and no best room available upgrade, and no suite upgrades. It's a pretty big downgrade from a real Hyatt property.
I'm surprised that this partnership is so bad. They couldn't even negotiate best room available for globalists? It's a nice perk that doesn't cost the hotel too much.
This partnership is not unlike Marriott/SPG’s partnership with Design Hotels. Minimal benefits for elites, but more opportunities to earn and redeem points and elite nights at a new roster of excellent property options.
It’s just another option that’s now available for the obviously small Hyatt portfolio. It’s like a condom: most would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
For Globalists looking for new options to keep Globalist status, this partnership does offer new chances in destinations where there were no options before. That’s a plus for such a small portfolio.
