I concur with the 757 seating suggestions with one caveat: if you're planning on using a laptop during the flight (which sounds like it isn't the case for you), the downside to non-bulkhead seats is that you may find yourself in tight quarters should the person in front of you fully recline. It's for this reason that I tend towards 1B as my fave on the 757, as the cut out along the floor offers a few extra inches of leg room (which I've found to not be any more/less than rows further back) and you don't end up being wedged between a seatback and your tray table.
