If it's what I'm thinking of (private car waiting for you at the gate to drive you to your next gate), legacy hub airports in the US already offer it. I'm not sure SAN will get it any time soon, however, considering that AS and WN are the only airlines that even remotely consider it a hub.

That said, it will be nice once T1 is rebuilt and connected to T2 airside.
