As an aside, how does this work with GV? In my experience, when I make a call using GV on my phone (via the GV app) it GV actually calls my phone directly and initiates the connection that way, regardless of whether i'm on Cell Data or WiFi. I've never been able to get the GV app to initiate a call using data on my phone.
It's more accurate to say that I'm using the Hangouts Dialer, which then plucks data from the SIM card on my phone to tap into my GV balance, but it does work well that way--so long as I don't forget and use my SIM minutes wherever I am in Europe other than in Ireland. When I'm in Ireland, I actually use the Irish SIM because many of the calls there don't reduce my call balance, and I don't have to add in prefix codes.
