Thank you both, puts my mind at ease somewhat (so long as there's no fog delay outbound, but then that's out of my control...!). What I'll probably do is check out the distance from gate to gate and walk it so worst case scenario I am nearby and can flag people down to help. I am flying business, and have picked a seat on the first row on the LCY-AMS leg to speed up getting off the plane - however, if all works well, given/assuming there's no security in between I might duck into the lounge (or not) depending on where everything is situated and what the timing looks like!
