Just a quick note on this mornings arrivals into LHR (which had me on one flight and family members on another), BA and ATC did very well in my opinion.
Firstly all landings before 7am (if not well beyond) were full CAT III auto-landings - the fog was incredibly thick and we were down before you could make out buildings around LHR. Secondly, my family had a tight T3-T5 connection which became even tighter after their arrival was stacked due to the fog. Their connecting flight had 23 other pax going to the same destination (which definitely helped) but BA had a special transfer bus for this group at the airbridge at T3 and everybody made it through T5 security and conformance with time to spare. We give out about them a lot in here, but from a safety perspective they get top marks and being proactive on the connection turned what could have been a very stressful experience into a simple affair with little fuss for all involved.
