I would start by getting a subscription to Expertflyer. It will take some time, but I would put an alert for just about every AA flight from Europe to JFK/PHL/CLT/RDU. Expertflyer now allows 200 saved searches for the normal membership so that will cover you on a lot of flights.

AA is extremely stingy on releasing saver J. The best bet is when they do one of their "dumps"...where they seemingly open the floodgates on some routes. And it's usually gone as quickly as it comes. Expertflyer is the best took to be at the right place at the right time for AA int'l saver awards. There is a TON of competition for those awards...especially in the summer over a weekend.
