Be smart. Just because the airline sells it doesn’t mean you should do it. Two reasons, if you are delayed starting from London, you will miss your connection and cannot really abandon your connection to take another non AA flight as it will void your return. On your return if you are delayed out of Eugene, you will not find a competent agent who will have the guts to rebook you all the way to India.

I had the same issue with MDT-IAD/ORD which was frequently delayed and often UA and AA used to sell 30-40 minute connections in IAD and ORD.
