INTRODUCTION
Special Meals are provided for dietary, medical and religious reasons
only.
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for all Special Meals
N.B. 48 HOURS NOTICE IS REQUIRED FOR LAGOS (LOS) AND
TEHRAN (THR)
Requests for specific items (eg seafood, lobster, caviar, fruit plate)
made for personal preference will not be accepted.
AVAILABILITY
Special Meals are available on all routes except:
• Euro Travellers on services to/from Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris.
• On domestic/Super Shuttle routes.
• For passengers travelling on a stand-by or waitlist basis.
• Non catered routes.
• Children’s meals are not available on flights to/or from Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris.
Franchise partner exceptions:
For European services of Maersk/British Regional a minimum notice of
3 days is required (selection of meals may be limited).
British Mediterranean long-haul services offer special meals.
SPECIAL MEALS - DESCRIPTIONS
The only Special Meals supplied are:
Asian Vegetarian (AVML)
Contains no meat, fish, fowl, dairy products or honey. It is a meatless
meal cooked and seasoned Indian Style.
Lacto Vegetarian (VLML)
Contains no meat, fish or seafood but may contain dairy products (ie
milk, eggs, butter etc).
Vegan Vegetarian (VGML)
A strict Vegetarian meal containing no meat, fish, fowl, dairy products or
honey. If Vegan is not specified a lacto meal will be provided.
Hindu (HNML)
Contains no beef, veal or pork, but this is not a Vegetarian meal. Should
a Hindu request a Vegetarian meal, offer Asian Vegetarian (AVML).
Moslem (MOML)
Contains no pork or by-products of pork and no foodstuffs containing
alcohol. All meats come from ritually slaughtered animals.
Kosher (KSML)
These meals are prepared to comply with Jewish Dietary laws.
* Not available on European inbound flights when the aircraft has night
stopped away from its UK base (except Frankfurt, Berlin and Tel Aviv).
Baby (BBML)
Tinned baby food will be provided on request. However all parents
should be advised to bring their usual brand of powdered milk. These
can be prepared and heated on board the aircraft.
N.B. Parents are also advised to carry their own supply of disposable
nappies.
Childrens (CHML)*
These are available on all longhaul services for children aged 2-12, and
must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. .
* These meals are also available on GB Airways services.
