This. OP was likely charged as booked, but it is not surprising that OP is confused given that the marriott.com booking options have.. a unique perspective on pricing. It always says "the first night" or "nights from" and then varies the cost per night. No other major hotel or booking site does this (that I am aware of, but my experience is limited), so no one should be surprised when people get confused about rates. On a low demand-high demand booking I've seen rate differentials as high as $300($129 for Sunday night, $449 for Mon/Tues/Wed night). The Marriott booking page happily says "$129 (first night)" with no indication of the total.

Edit: I just made a dummy booking and I see the site now uses Average - hurrah! Someone at Marriott realized how misleading and customer unfriendly the old approach was. Not sure if this is A/B testing or if this is universal for everyone.
