A close friend booked a last minute trip using AMEX Pay with Points to book a ticket on AA to rush across the country after his father took a turn for the worse (cancer) and now will pass away shortly.
He wants to move his return trip to a later date (already flew outbound). Will AA waive the change fee and fare difference assuming the same fare class is available on the new date?

AA's fare rules onlyu have a waiver where there is a death of family member , not that there is likely to be one
I expect that if he wants to make the change now, he will have to pay any change fee and fare differences that may apply
