I have added myself as tentative for this Do. Need to find some reasonably sensible flight prices as the YVR flights have gone.
I have worked in Panama City a few times in the past and always had a good time when not stuck in the office.
This is the hotel I used:

Not been for years but it was a comfortable 4 star hotel, with great pool and cabana rooms that open out onto the garden and pool. These rooms were great for parties, when we would buy drinks and snacks nearby and enjoy in the evening warmth etc.
The location was reasonable and there are a variety of restaurants nearby.
Taxis can take you to Casco Viejo (old town), which is well worth a visit.
Visiting the Panama Canal is also highly recommended but requires a journey out of the city. Beaches are also an option but I did not use them, as the pool was so easy.
